Following years of close coverage and collaboration between Coliwood Studios and Six Flags Great Adventure, Colin was officially named as an “Adventure Ambassador” in 2026. Having grown up going to the park for years and developed a close relationship with management across many eras at Great Adventure, working with the park in an official capacity has enabled great content for the Coliwood Studios social media accounts, as well as exposure for the park.

PROJECTS 2026 & 2027

Coverage of the 2027 Roller Coaster began as soon as construction started, watching as Kingda Ka, Green Lantern, and other attractions were removed to make way for the footers of the new attraction. We partnered with Six Flags Great Adventure in August to film drone aerial shots of the coaster’s construction site before the project's marketing campaign truly began.

Supports arrived in late November, signaling that major construction milestones were on the horizon.

On February 18th, the park invited us, along with a few other content creators, out for the arrival of the first piece of track for the new coaster! This is a segment of launch track from the station area of the attraction, sporting many LSM launch stators. This piece of track was joined by a large number of supports and a few pieces of catwalk that were scattered across the construction site.

On February 26th, the park brought us out once again for a quick visit to the construction site, where we were surprised with four more pieces of track for the attraction! One of these was what appeared to be an extreme moment of the attraction with extremely dramatic angles of banking and pitch.

On March 19th, we were brought out for a major series of updates to both Projects 2026 and 2027! Project 2027 had received significantly more track segments and supports since our prior visit, with multiple launch segments, twists, and extreme maneuvers now present. Additionally, the first piece of the attraction went vertical, with segments of the switch track in the station. The track will slide between the two different sides of the station here, linking up with the main segment of track in the center of the station.

Project 2026, which involves renovating the Boardwalk area where the Purple Coaster is located, had some exciting updates to share! In addition to new Boardwalk-style concrete that is stamped and colored to look like real wood, two of the five rides were shown off to us. First is the park’s Swashbuckler attraction, which has gone by many names over the years, including its original name, Super Round Up. This ride will be moved to the new area of the Boardwalk in 2026, with the ride’s former plot being transformed into a guest leisure area. The other ride we were shown is the park’s 14th roller coaster! This ride features a light blue track with darker blue supports, and many recognized it as the Ragin’ Cajun Spinning Coaster at Six Flags America. These two attractions will be joined by three other New-to-Great Adventure rides that are scheduled to debut in Late Spring of 2026.

By the time the park opened for the season during the last weekend of March (3/27-3/29), progress had accelerated drastically! Much of the coaster’s inverted stall had been completed, with construction crews showing their sheer speed and efficiency in this project.

The park hosted a Spring Creator Day on April 4th, allowing a large number of content creators and influencers to explore the construction site. By this point, almost the entire stall was fully completed.

As Spring Break progressed, work on the attraction’s tower began, with these photos from April 7th showing the start of the immense support structure that leads into the ride’s tower.

At this point, the stall was essentially completed, with supports for the catwalk of the third and final launch also being visible.

At this point, the attraction also had very few track pieces on site, since most had already been assembled.
